Weight Loss Success in 3 Steps

Weight loss success for some comes easy but for many of us it is a constant struggle. You may find yourself trying many different diets, pills and crazy methods. Perhaps you shed a few pounds only to put it back on (and sometimes even more than you lost). Sound familiar? Well keep reading to learn the secrets of being successful. Losing weight does not come in a bottle with some magical pill and there is no one super food or power drink that will melt the fat. In fact, the really successful people use methods that have nothing to do with food, exercise or pills. I'm not saying you don't have to worry about the foods you eat or that you don't have to do your workouts, but you need more than just those things. To really succeed at weight loss the key ingredients are motivation, commitment and knowledge. Weight Loss Success through Motivation Getting and staying motivated is critical to shedding pounds and keeping it off. Motivation is used everyday for many different things in people's lives. It's a key ingredient for achieving goals, and your weight loss goal is no different. Here are a few motivational tips to help you get excited about losing weight. Use your friends to motivate you. Find the perfect diet buddy and achieve your goals together. When you attack a big challenge with a partner in crime you are more likely to achieve the results you want. Track your progress. Seeing the results along the way can be a great motivator. Be aware that you will hit plateaus and times when the progress is slowing, stopped or changed directions. This is normal so don't sweat it. Track more than just pounds lost as you can be losing inches and fat even though the scale is not budging. Everyone loves rewards so reward yourself to motivate yourself. Treat yourself (with something other than snacks) when you reach a milestone. This could be five pounds, a few inches or what ever you determine as the goals. Don't just make one final big goal, but create several smaller goals so you can reward yourself and stay motivated. Committing to Weight Loss Success Of course you are committed to achieving weight loss otherwise you wouldn't be reading this article. However, saying you want it and really committing to it can be two different things. When I say commit yourself I mean make a plan. Plan out your meals, exercise routines and write down your goals. This way you have something to look at each day to keep you committed to your goal. Knowledge for Weight Loss Success Whenever you tackle something new there is a learning period. Although there are tons of information on weight loss, it needs to be personalized to you. Know the right calorie intake for you, what exercises fit within your schedule and restrictions and what tools and programs are right for you. Arm yourself with as much knowledge on the subject instead of just diving into the latest fads of burning fat and losing weight. Once you have all the knowledge you need, the commitment made and your motivation revved up, you will succeed.
