Snacking Personality

Everyone loves snacks, but the choices are varied and widely different from person to person. Some love salty snacks while others go for the meaty snacks. Then there are the chocoholics and of course the cheesy snack lovers. Your food cravings may in fact dictate your personality. Believe it or not, some studies have shown a connection between food cravings and certain personality traits.

Salt Seekers

If you seek salt for your favorite snack food and grab the potato chips then you are successful at work and in your home life. If your salt forte is pretzels then you hate the routine mundane day to day tasks and instead opt for the abstract world. For those who love the salty taste of tortilla chips you are likely a humanitarian who stresses easily over the injustices of the world. And lastly, for those whose salt cravings are satisfied with crackers, you are a thoughtful person who contemplates over all the information before making a decision.

Meat Eaters

Beef Jerky anyone? If what you crave are summer sausages, beef jerky or other meaty snacks then you are more than likely a partying fool. You are outgoing, friendly and tend to be the life of the party.

Say Cheese

If cheese is what you crave in your snacks then you are very proper and grounded. You are contentious and morale. You are true to your friends, family and significant other. You are considered to have integrity and can be trusted.

Decadent Chocolate Lovers

Chocolate is a snack group all on its own. Let’s face it – chocolate for many are the number one food cravings when looking for snacks. For those dark chocolate lovers, you are very outgoing and enjoy life and are generally the life of the party. For those who add nuts to the tasty delight of chocolate, you are friendly and a nurturer. And of course the milk chocolate lovers are compassionate and thinkers. You will mull over the data before making any moves.

Rather your food cravings match your personality or not, we all have times when we want or need a snack. Just try to make your snack choices healthier so you can satisfy your cravings but still eat healthy.
